MRH 90
The NH 90 system was selected by the Department of Defence Air 9000 project for Phases 2, 4 and 6; which seeks future helicopter fleet type rationalisation, capability enhancement and through-life cost savings through a global army/navy perspective. The Australian version of the NH 90 is designated as the MRH 90.
The NH 90/MRH 90 is at home on land and sea, with tactical transport army missions, amphibious missions, navy antisubmarine and anti-surface warfare missions from a single platform type.
A major attraction is its class-leading cabin size, combined with a rear ramp loading capability. But beyond this, technology advances such as fly-by-wire control or all-composite carbon-matrix structures clearly open the way to new standards of capacity, performance, inter-operability, availability and economy.
